Referral Network
Our center works with a network of therapists in order to cater to children and special populations such as: expecting mothers, postnatal mothers, parents of children with disabilities and psychosexual disorders. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are in need of advice or referral.
Efi Bourna is an associate of the center’s referral network. Her first degree is in Psychology and Counseling (BSc (Hons) in Psychology and Counselling) from the University of Teesside, Great Britain. She has specialized in Adult Psychotherapy at Derby University, Great Britain, where she trained in three theoretical approaches: Psychodynamic (Attachment Theory), Cognitive-Behavioral and Person Centered therapy, completing her Master in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. In the process of her professional development she gained academic and practical training in Prenatal Psychology and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Attica Psychiatric Hospital ‘Dafni’ respectively. She continued her professional training attending educational programs in Group Analysis at Attica Psychiatric Hospital ‘Dafni’ in cooperation with the drug unit 18 ANO, in Psychosis from the Athens Clinic for Cognition and in Autism Spectrum Disorders from the Evaggelismos Hospital in Athens. Since 2009 she has worked in public and private networks of volunteers contributing to the psychosocial rehabilitation of people with psychotic disorders and in non-profit organizations for the mental health of pregnant women, new mothers and their families (Fainareti, Sismanoglio Hospital, ‘Aghia Sophia’ Hospital etc.). In her clinical practice she composes three major psychotherapeutic approaches, working with adults who have emotional and behavioral difficulties, psychosomatic symptoms, mood disorders, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, phobias, etc. and women who wish to move smoothly into motherhood. She is certified by the British Academic Recognition and Information Center (NARIC UK) and her therapeutic work is governed by ethics and psychotherapeutic practical principles of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) of which is a member.
