Our center collaborates with graduate degree programs and facilitates neophyte psychotherapists in the endeavor of working towards the completion of their practical training. Student therapists provide counseling and support services free of charge to people with financial difficulties while under the supervision of Mrs. Trigenis, and other experienced psychologists. Georgia Bakali, is a graduate student working towards the completion her MSc in Integrative Counseling and Psychotherapy from the University of Derby in collaboration with Mediterranean College (Athens). She has a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Patras (ΤΕΕΑΠΗ). As part of her training, she participated in interactive training programs and seminars covering topics such as Alternative Education Techniques, School Psychology, Child Developmental Psychology and Special Needs Education. At present she is in the process of completing her practicum requirements as a supervisee at the Roots Wellness Center.

Thanos Kakafikas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is a trainee psychotherapist at the center. He offers individual therapy sessions in the context of his Master’s (MSc) degree in Integrative Psychotherapy with emphasis in the areas of: Client-Centered therapy, CBT and psychodynamic approaches His interests include alternative modalities of treatment (elements of self-knowledge, meditation, qigong exercises) which focus on the interplay between the psychological condition, physical well-being and mental clarity.

Eleftheria Papakonstantinopoulou, has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology from the University of Derby. At present, she is in the second year of her Master’s degree in Integrative Psychotherapy at the University of Derby. She is currently fulfilling the requirements for her practical training under clinical supervision at the Roots Wellness Center, as well as the Social Solidarity clinic for the municipality of Peristeri.

Andriana Samaridou has completed a Bsc degree in Applied Psychology and she is senior in the Msc program in Counseling and Integrative psychotherapy in one of the United Kingdom’s branches (Mediterranean College, Thessaloniki, and Athens- University of Derby, UK). As part of the bachelor’s degree, she has conducted research about the role of gender, type of relationship and adult attachment style on peoples’ perceptions about love and sex attitudes. She has volunteered at a recovery and rehabilitation center for children with disabilities, in the Down’s syndrome Association and at Hamogelo tou Paidiou in Thessaloniki for two years. She continued her master’s studies specializing in integrative psychotherapy (Cognitive behavioral therapy, Attachment theory, and Person centered approach). In the last two years, she has also completed more than 150 hours of individual sessions and 50 hours of individual and group supervisions at the psychotherapeutic center Epilysis in Thessaloniki. Currently, she is a supervisee at the Roots Wellness Center.
